Thousands of overseas jobs at Handog kay P-Noy expo in Pasay City

The Pamilyang Overseas Filipino Workers-Small and Medium Entrepreneurs Network Foundation Inc. (Pamilyang OFWs) announced yesterday that thousands of overseas and local jobs await qualified applicants who will visit the Handog kay P-Noy Jobs and Livelihood Expo 2011 (Part 4) and the 6th Pamaskong Handog sa Pamilyang OFWs at MSMEs Expo which will be held this Friday (Dec. 9) and Saturday (Dec. 10) at the Philippine Trade Training Center, Roxas Boulevard corner Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue, Pasay City. The expo is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Pamilyang OFWs Marketing Officer Cristina Garcia said some of the licensed recruitment agencies are the Eyequest International Manpower, Jaber International Recruitment and Placement Agency, Le Mode Staffing, Inc., Precise Global Manpower Services Recruitment Agency, Inc. and Shaso International Manpower Services, Inc.

The available jobs in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Singapore, Taiwan and United Arab Emirates include accountants, admin assistants, agricultural engineers, architects, archive clerks, art directors, artists/painters, carpenters, cashiers, checkers, chef cooks, civil surveyors, cleaners, cooks, domestic helpers, dozer operators, draftsmen, electrical engineers, frontliner receptionists, furnishing carpenters, furniture artists, grader operators, helpers, hydro crane operators, janitresses, laborers, landscapers, lathe/milling machine operators, office assistants, QA/QC Safety Engineers, secretaries, and waitresses.

Twin expo to ensure transformation of OFW families into entrepreneurs

Two expositions that will ensure the transformation of a majority of the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families into entrepreneurs will be held on Dec. 9-10 at the Philippine Trade Training Center, Roxas Boulevard corner Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue, Pasay City. Entitled “Handog kay P-Noy Jobs and Livelihood Expo 2011 (Part 4)” and the “6th Pamaskong Handog sa Pamilyang OFWs-MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Entrepreneurs)”, the two events are organized by the Pamilyang OFW-SME Network Foundation Inc. (Pamilyang OFWs).

POEA Adm. Carlos Cao to open ‘Handog kay P-Noy  
Jobs and Livelihood Expo’ today in Pasay City

Thousands of overseas and local jobs await qualified applicants who will visit  the Handog kay P-Noy Jobs and Livelihood Expo 2011 (Part 2) and the 10th Pamilyang Overseas Filipino Workers-Micro, Small and Medium Entrepreneurs Expo which is slated on June 24-25 at the Philippine Trade Training Center in Pasay City. The expo hours is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Administrator Carlos Cao of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) is the guest of honor and keynote speaker at the opening ceremonies which will start at 10 a.m. He is expected to discuss the POEA’s plans and programs for the OFWs and their families.

Organized by the Pamilyang Overseas Filipino Workers-Small and Medium Entrepreneurs Network Foundation Inc. (Pamilyang OFWs), the twin expo  is a one-stop-shop for jobs, livelihood, investment and business opportunities which aims to transform a majority of OFW families into community entrepreneurs and help solve the OFW reintegration problem.

The twin event is in line with the 17th Migrant Workers Day which was celebrated last June 6 and the Day of the Filipino Seafarer which will be observed every June 25 of the year, starting this year, as per Proclamation No. 183 of Pres. Benigno Simeon Aquino III.

Real estate, other companies target OFW families

The Pamilyang Overseas Filipino Workers-Small and Medium Entrepreneurs Network Foundation Inc. (Pamilyang OFWs) announced yesterday that real estate and other companies will promote and market their projects and products in the Handog kay P-Noy Jobs and Livelihood Expo 2011 (Part 3), 8th Filipino Seafarers Family Expo and Pamilyang OFWs Investment and Business Expo 2011  which is slated on Sept. 23-24 at the Philippine Trade Training Center in Pasay City.

Organized by the Pamilyang OFWs (with website address: http://www.pamilyangofw.com and tel. no. 400-60-72), its president George Arban Arriola said the two-day event  is a one-stop-shop for jobs, livelihood, investment and business opportunities which aims to empower the OFWs (including seafarers) as well as their families through information, opportunities and benefits. It also aims to transform a majority of OFW families into community entrepreneurs.

Pamilyang OFWs Marketing Director Christine Roque said that the real estate and other companies which just signed up to participate in the three expos are Asian Cathay Finance and Leasing Corp., Citibank, Delicane, FGO Krystal Herbal Products, Filinvest Alabang Inc., Camaya Coast, Manila Times (media partner), Sunlife of Canada Philippines, Inc. and Sunrider Philippines, Inc.

A survey conducted recently by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) showed that more and more beneficiaries of OFWs are turning to savings and investments as the central bank stepped up its advocacy on the productive use of remittances. Rosabel Guerrero, director of the BSP’s Department of Economic Statistics, said the central bank’s advocacy on the productive use of remittances from OFWs are now bearing fruit as more beneficiaries are learning to save and invest more.

Studies also revealed that the OFWs are fueling a real estate boom in the Philippines, as their families back home invest much of their earnings in property. The OFWs account for about 10 percent of the Philippines' population, and constitute one of the major forces of the national economy.

Handog kay P-Noy Jobs Expo starts tomorrow in Pasay City

The Pamilyang Overseas Filipino Workers-Small and Medium Entrepreneurs Network Foundation Inc. (Pamilyang OFWs) announced yesterday that the Handog kay P-Noy Jobs and Livelihood Expo 2010 (Part 1) and the 7th Filipino Seafarers Family Expo & Forum will start on Friday (Oct. 7) at the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC), Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue corner Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City. The PTTC is beside the World Trade Center.

The must-see events for the OFWs (land-based and sea-based) and micro, small and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs) as well as their families is supported by President Aquino, Vice President Jejomar Binay, House Speaker Feliciano Belmonte, Jr., Administrator Jennifer Jardin-Manalili of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, and other government officials and non-government organization leaders.

Pamilyang OFWs Marketing Officer Christine G. Roque said that Nissan North EDSA Balintawak will showcase its Bravado and Urvan vehicles while the NSJB will promote and market its Victoria Towers and Isabelle De Valenzuela projects before the must-see expo for the OFWs (land-based and sea-based) and their families.

Earlier, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas G overnor Amando M. Tetangco, Jr. reported that the OFW r emittances coursed through banks rose to US$1.6 billion in July 2010, posting a year-on-year growth of 8.2 percent. He said that this favorable development brought cumulative remittances for the first seven months of the year to US$10.7 billion, higher by 7.1 percent from the year-ago level, with remittances from sea-based and land-based workers expanding by 9.4 percent and 6.5 percent, respectively.

Honda, Isuzu join expo for OFW families

The Pamilyang Overseas Filipino Workers-Small and Medium Entrepreneurs Network Foundation Inc. (Pamilyang OFWs) announced yesterday that Honda Cars Makati Inc. and Isuzu Alabang will join the Handog kay P-Noy Jobs and Livelihood Expo 2010 (Part 1) and the 7th Filipino Seafarers Family Expo & Forum which is slated on Oct. 7-8 at the Philippine Trade Training Center in Pasay City.

Pamilyang OFWs Marketing Officer Christine Roque said that Honda will showcase its latest cars and sports utility vehicles while Isuzu will display its Crosswind and D-Max service vehicles.

The BSP reported that the OFW remittances last year was $16.9 billion. Despite the global economic crisis, the OFW remittances are expected to increase this year.

Some of them are saving their money in the banks while others invested it on networking and pyramiding activities, which later turned out to be investment scams.

Expo participation fees of LRAs, NGOs to be subsidized by Pamilyang OFWs

The Pamilyang Overseas Filipino Workers-Small and Medium Entrepreneurs Network Foundation Inc. (Pamilyang OFWs) announced yesterday that it will subsidize the participation fees of licensed recruitment agencies (LRAs) offering local and overseas jobs as well as non-government organizations (NGOs) offering livelihood opportunities in its twin exposition slated on Oct. 7-8 at the Philippine Trade Training Center in Pasay City.

Entitled Handog kay P-Noy Jobs and Livelihood Expo 2010 (Part 1) and the 7th Filipino Seafarers Family Expo & Forum, the twin event which aims to empower the OFW families through information, opportunities and benefits is regularly featured in PILIPINAS NGAYON radio program which is broadcast over DWBL 1242 khz every Monday, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.
